think more about computer generated art and non objective art — try to integrate some of my own art ideas —

the time scale is very strange — so much has happened and what seems a long time from a personal perspective on my art seems very short when i think about where it fit in to match and science — wolfram developed these ideas in the early 80s — i was doing my black and white drawings in the 70s —

also look at minimal music — which seems to demonstrate a lot of similar ideas to cellular automata

repeated photoshop filtrations etc — a compression schema — something to experiment with —

video instruments & audio instruments

asides on the stage we can think words and images but they are very different — shakespeare can tell us what a character is thinking but not what s/he’s thinking
voices and — what —

we produce sounds but expressions (visual) are not at all the same —
again sound is multidirectional but it’s easy to miss a frown —

look at wittgenstein for style ideas

<not sure what this means — maybe a mistake in writing>

starting from preconceived ideas vs letting things develop — starting from / with — process — the latter has been a recent phenomenon — wolfram question of why simple phenomena weren’t discovered long ago — why didn’t art develop along abstract lines long ago — despite a lot of beautiful examples —
wolfram notes on chapter one — first note — think about the relationship between science and art — again consider duchamp
